Sizzlefolk is a static website. Here is what that means for your information today. This page will change if the site adds anything that changes the answer.
What the site doesn’t do
- There are no accounts, comments, newsletter sign-ups or contact forms.
- There are no advertising or social media scripts.
Analytics
With your permission, Sizzlefolk uses Google Analytics to see which pages are read and which merchant links are clicked. For a merchant link, that means the article, merchant, product and link position. Google receives this along with usual browser details, and sets cookies whose names begin with _ga. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off.
Until you accept, Google’s script doesn’t load and nothing is sent to Google. If you decline, it stays that way. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the site treats that as declining and doesn’t ask.
Your choice is kept in your browser for a year, then you’re asked again. Changing your mind to decline stops analytics and removes those cookies.
Search
Search runs entirely in your browser against a list of published articles. What you type appears in the page address so results can be shared, but the site doesn’t record it. The hosting provider’s request logs, described below, could include a page address with a search term.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes routine request details such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser information in order to serve pages and keep them secure.
Product images
Some articles show product images that load directly from Amazon, whether or not you’ve accepted analytics. Your browser requests each image from Amazon’s servers, so Amazon receives routine request details such as your IP address and browser information, and its own privacy practices apply. The site asks your browser not to tell Amazon which page you’re reading.
Links to other sites
Articles link to manufacturers, sources and sometimes merchants. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy practices apply. Merchants and affiliate networks may use cookies on their own sites to credit a purchase to Sizzlefolk.
