Editorial policy
Sizzlefolk is written from a learner’s point of view. That’s only useful if it’s honest about what is known and how, so every article follows these rules.
Evidence labels
Each article carries one of these labels near the top.
- General explainer. Background on the subject. Not a hands-on product test.
- Research only. Compiled from the sources listed on this page. No product here was used or tested for this article.
- Personal impressions. Based on the author’s own use, as described in the article. Not a measured test.
- Measured test. Includes measurements taken using the method described in the article.
A product is only described as used or tested when that actually happened and the article says how.
Sources
Specifications and factual product claims need a source a reader can follow, usually the manufacturer’s own documentation. Sources are listed at the end of the article. A “checked” date means someone opened that source on that date; products and pages change, so it’s worth confirming details before you buy.
For installation, clearances, ventilation and safe use, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your own equipment. Nothing here replaces them.
Images
Images on Sizzlefolk are AI-generated illustrations unless credited otherwise. They set the scene. They are not photographs of real equipment, of tested products or of the author’s home. Any photo used as evidence of a test will be original, credited and described as such. Manufacturer images appear only when authorized and credited.
Money and independence
Some articles may include affiliate links. An affiliate relationship doesn’t buy a recommendation, and merchants don’t review or approve articles before publication. See the affiliate disclosure.
Ratings and prices
Sizzlefolk doesn’t publish scores or star ratings. Prices are left out unless they’re sourced and dated, because they change quickly.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, it should be fixed in the article, with the update date changed so readers can see that it moved.
